All about OSHC!

Normanhurst West OSHC is a not for profit, community based centre that provides before and after school care for the children of Normanhurst West Public School. Our centre is managed and run by a voluntary parent committee as a sub committee of the P&C .

We constantly strive to provide the best quality of care for the children who attend our centre by providing a fun and interactive weekly program in a caring and nurturing environment. We have a team of dedicated staff who are both experienced and passionate about working with children.

Opening Hours

Morning: 7:00am- 9:00am- Children are signed out into teacher supervision in the playground, at 8:35am
Afternoon: 2:50pm: 6:15pm

Vacation Care

During the school holidays we provide Vacation Care which caters for the children of Normanhurst West Public School and the wider community. Vacation Care is packed with exciting activities that take place both in and out of the centre. Our program aims to provide exciting activities for the children, while increasing opportunities for learning and development.

Vacation Care opening hours: 7:00am- 6:15pm

Meals

Breakfast is provided for children attending Before School Care and is served each morning from 7:00am until 8:00am. Afternoon tea is provided for all children attending After School Care. Families provide morning tea and lunch during Vacation Care. We aim to provide nutritious and varied breakfasts and afternoon teas for the children attending the Centre. Frequently an afternoon activity will include cooking a range of healthy, multicultural foods. Children are able to consume these during the afternoon or take them home. Cooking is a favourite activity and is included in our weekly programming.

Dietary requirement

Our centre ensures that all children with special dietary requirements are adequately catered for. Consistent with Normanhurst West Public School policy, we are a nut free centre and all appropriate measures are taken when preparing food for children with allergies. Our menu caters for vegetarian children and is both varied and nutritious.

We have multiple children at the centre with anaphylaxis.  As such, NWOOSH aims to ensure the Centre is a “Nut Free Zone”.  All foods purchased for meals do not contain nuts and parents are asked to ensure that any additional food that is packed for their children to consume during Before and After School Care and Vacation Care, do not contain nuts, e.g. no peanut butter, or nutella spread etc. We appreciate your help in doing so!

Children with Additional Needs

Our centre caters for children with additional needs and is able to access Inclusion Support for these children in some situations. Please advise our Centre Director when you enrol if your child has additional needs.
