Children’s Science Programs @ Hornsby Library
A four week program aimed for 6 to 8 years young scientists presented by the Children’s Discovery Museum. Participants will be able to learn and explore themes from different branches of science through numerous practical experiments
Date: Monday 07 March – Monday 28 March
Time: 4.30 pm – 5.30 pm
Location: Hornsby Library, 28-44 George Street, Hornsby
Ages: Strictly 6-8 years. Children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost: $60 for the 4 week program
Bookings: Online at Hornsby Library or at any Hornsby Shire Library Branch. (Limit 25 children)

Session 1: All About Plants
Explore the fascinating world of plants as you create a leaf rubbing, press flowers and leaves, and design a plant growth experiment to continue your living things discoveries at home.
Session 2: Balancing the Improbable
Explore the science of balancing through a series of ‘centre of mass’ experiments, and make your own gravity-defying Wacky Wobbler to continue your balanced discoveries at home.
Session 3: Magic Magnets
Discover which materials cannot escape a magnet’s powers of attraction, and make a magnetic fishing game to continue your magnetic discoveries at home.
Session 4: Wind Things
Explore the science of flight through a series of construction activities, including a working model wing, a whirligig and a paper plane to continue your wind-powered explorations at home.
